Aftercare and Post Treatment Guidelines
Thank you for choosing Define by Jill for your recent procedure. We strongly recommend you follow the below aftercare guidelines to assist with the recovery process.
Please ensure you follow the below guidelines relevant to the treatment you have had as this is a medical procedure and aftercare is a very important part of the process. After any medical procedure that consists of injections there is a risk of infection around the site.
Anti wrinkle Injection Aftercare
It is not unusual to experience some mild side effects following wrinkle-smoothing injections. You may experience a mild headache directly after the treatment. Paracetamol may be taken if required. Tenderness and bruising may also appear at the injection site, there may be red dots at the needle puncture sites and you may get swelling around the areas of the puncture sites.
Please follow the instructions below:
You will begin to notice the effects of your Botulinum toxin treatment within 2-8 days.
Minimise excessive exercise in the first couple of days following your treatment especially if you develop some bruising.
Avoid putting any pressure on the treated area for 24-48 hours after treatment.
Do not massage the area of injection for at least 24 hours after treatment.
Do not apply makeup for 6-8 hours post treatment.
Avoid facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, IPL or energy-based treatments, and microdermabrasion for two weeks after treatment. Please check with your physician before undergoing other facial treatments within this time.
Dermal Filler Aftercare
Immediately after your dermal filler treatment you may notice a few of the following things:
Swelling
Bruising
Red needle puncture marks
Asymmetry
Tenderness
Itching in the area
These issues above are common with dermal filler aftercare, and should resolve over the next few days to weeks. Your final result will be seen at about 4 weeks after treatment, and you can be reviewed to see if further treatments are required to achieve the planned results.
Please follow the instructions below:
Do not expose the area to intense heat (eg solarium or sauna).
Avoid pressure on the treated areas for the first few nights (i.e. sleep on back of possible).
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

Chin Sculpting, Fat Dissolving Injection Aftercare
Immediately after treatment with fat dissolving you may notice some redness, swelling, tenderness and a painful sensation in the treated area, as well as numbness from the local anaesthetic. These symptoms generally improve significantly over the next few days.
The swelling may last for several weeks in total, but the worst of it is over after about 3 days. If symptoms persist or other reactions occur, please contact us.
Please follow the instructions below:
Use regular cold compresses on the first day. The pain sensation will last a few hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Pain relief such as paracetamol may be taken as directed by your physician.
